Hi! I’m Michelle
I'm a registered speech-language pathologist with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA). I have Bachelor’s of Science degrees in Biological Sciences and Psychology from the University of Calgary. My love of biology and child development led me to complete a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Alberta nearly a decade ago. Since then, I have found my passion in assessing and treating communication disorders in clients of all ages.
I have special interests in speech sound disorders, language delays in children learning more than one language, and cognitive-communication disorders acquired through stroke and/or traumatic brain injury. I believe strongly in a client/family-centred, strengths-based approach to therapy; working with others to identify and reach functional, meaningful treatment goals. I strive to stay current on research and put evidence-based practices into effect on a daily basis.
In my spare time, I enjoy yoga, reading, traveling, and spending time with my husband, 1-year-old-son, and dog (Piccadilly). You might also find my cozied up with a cup of tea over an embroidery project.
